Backing Up Your World (game.db)

Conan Exiles stores everything in a SQLite database.

Save Location

The main file is located at:

Manual Backup

1. Stop the server.
2. Copy game.db to a safe location.
3. Restart server.

Restoring a Backup

1. Stop the server.
2. Rename your current game.db to game.db.old.
3. Copy your backup file into the folder and rename it to game.db.
4. Start server.

Not sure which copy is the healthy one? A dedicated server keeps rolling engine backups next to the world (game_0_backup_*.db), and the newest one is sometimes already damaged. Nothing is uploaded and your originals are untouched.

INI Persistence

Remember that game.db only stores world data (buildings, characters). Your settings are in /Config/ folder (ServerSettings.ini).
